WELCOME TO THE SUPERINTENDENT'S OFFICE

Brian Stephens

Dear TUSD Community,

The start of a new school year is always an exciting time.  District staff has been working hard to get our facilities ready to welcome students, parents and teachers.  As superintendent, I am proud of our facilities and the pride that the community has in providing a wonderful learning environment to our students.  The district is moving forward with its plans to modernize North Elementary School.  With the opening of the new Central School in the spring, North Elementary will be the last major product tackled with the general obligation bond funds that were so graciously provided by Tracy voters.  I look forward to the changes that will be coming to the North campus.

Last year, TUSD was chosen to receive one of sixteen (out of 248 applications nationwide) federal grants to support STEM education in our district.  We are excited about implementing a STEM curriculum through all grade levels.  I believe that this new curriculum will help to make our students competitive for both college and the workplace in the 21st century.

Research is clear that parents are the most important factor in a child’s educational experience.  It is vital that TUSD team up with parents to create a comprehensive learning environment for all students.  Throughout this next school year, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher or principal should you have concerns that we can assist you with.  Working together, we can help our students achieve their fullest potential!

During the last half of the 2018-19 school year, the district began the work to re-vamp and create a new web presence that would be user friendly and assist parents in accessing district resources.  I hope that you enjoy our new webpage.

Best wishes for a successful school year.
